MANILA, Philippines – Temperatures could reach up to 37 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao City and up to 35 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila on Friday as summer in the country heats up.
This was because of the easterlies or warm winds from the east that continue to affect the country, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The easterlies are the prevailing weather system during dry season or “summer.”
On Thursday, the warmest temperature in Metro Manila was at 35.3 degrees Celsius at 1:50p.m.
The entire archipelago will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, Pagasa said.
Light to moderate winds coming from the east to northeast will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the northeast over the rest of the country and the coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
