Burglars target 2 public schools in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines—Two public schools in Quezon City were burglarized over the weekend by still unidentified thieves who made off with computers, gadgets and cash.
Both incidents were discovered on Monday morning when employees reported for work at Paltok Elementary School and Lagro High School. First to be discovered at 6 a.m. was the break-in at the computer room on the second floor of Paltok Elementary School in Barangay (village) Paltok.
Case investigator SPO1 Tirso de la Cruz of the Masambong police station said a teacher first noticed the missing items inside the computer room. Stolen were two computer monitors, two speakers and two central processing units, which were donated by the school’s parents-teachers association.
Around 8:30 a.m., another break-in was reported, this time at Lagro High School in Barangay Greater Lagro, Novaliches. Case investigator PO3 Victorio Guerrero of the Fairview police station said the stolen items included a Dell laptop worth P10,000, a flat screen TV worth P35,000, two flash drives and P750 in cash.—Julie M.
