3 hurt in 12-vehicle collision on C5

MANILA, Philippines–At least three people were hurt in a multiple vehicle collision on Circumferential Road 5 ‎(C5) in Makati on Tuesday afternoon that was caused by a 10-wheeler truck.

The wayward truck carrying LPG tanks plowed into 11 vehicles on the northbound lane of C5 near an elevated U-Turn slot in Barangay (village) Pembo,  the Metro Manila Development Authority metrobase said.

In a text message, the MMDA said the vehicles wrecked by the truck were sport utility vehicles (Two Toyota Innova, Pajero, Adventure, Tucson, CRV, Hi-Lux), three vans and a motorcycle.

Quoting the driver of the truck, Francis Cacheno, a radio report said he lost control and crashed into the vehicles.

The MMDA also advised motorists to expect heavy traffic in the area.
