MANILA, Philippines—Detained businesswoman and alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles is not receiving any special treatment at the the Ospital ng Makati, her attending physician said Tuesday.

Dr. Perry Ishmael Peralta told reporters that Napoles is treated like any other patients, adding that she is confined in a “basic room.”

“The room is very basic with bed, toilet and bath,” Peralta said.

He said Napoles had undergone  several tests before proceeding for a  medical surgery, citing her surgery would depend on the results of her medical examinations.

He, however, said that he could not divulge details on the medical procedures to be done on Napoles because of doctor-patient confidentiality.

Meanwhile, police said the Regional Public Safety Batallion (RPSB) and Special Action Force (SAF) of the Philippine National Police (PNP)  are manned to guard Napoles inside her room.

All entrances and exits of the hospital, however, are manned by hospital security.

Napoles was brought to the Ospital ng Makati Monday night after the court granted her motion to undergo medical surgery and confinement.

Napoles is scheduled to get a hospital treatment for her uterine cyst at the Ospital ng Makati after Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 150 Judge Elmo Alameda granted her motion to undergo surgery and hospital confinement, but not in the hospital of her choice, which is the St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig City.
