MANILA, Philippines – Senator Teofisto Guingona III, chairman of the Senate blue ribbon committee, is set to make an announcement this Tuesday about the committee’s ongoing investigation into the P10-billion “pork barrel” scam.

“Sen. TG Guingona will be making an announcement today regarding the blue ribbon investigation on the alleged pork barrel scam,” said a text advisory sent to reporters by his staff.

The announcement, it said, will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Sumulong Room in the Senate.

Some senators have expressed support for the committee to wrap up its investigation on the scam at least on the issue involving detained businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles.

The committee held its last hearing on the issue on March 6 with Dennis Cunanan, director general on-leave of the Technology Resource Center, at the witness stand.

Cunanan was co-accused in the charges filed at the Office of the Ombudsman but he decided to turn against them.
