MMDA sends personnel to typhoon-hit Coron, E. Samar

MANILA, Philippines—The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has deployed its personnel to Coron, Palawan; and Sulat, Eastern Samar—two areas adopted by the agency—after these were devastated by Super Typhoon Yolanda last year.

MMDA chair Francis Tolentino said on Monday that his men would construct boats in Sulat and rebuild the Coron public market which would hopefully bring back normalcy and provide residents with sources of livelihood.

“This is part of our commitment to help areas ravaged by Yolanda recover,” he added.
