Taxi driver, cohort rob woman in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines—A 38-year-old woman said she was robbed by a taxi driver and his cohort on Sunday night in Quezon City.
Mishiel Tablan filed a complaint in the Fairview police station, saying she lost almost P50,000 worth of valuables.
Tablan said she flagged down a “Glowing Stone” taxi cab around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday near Crossing on Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City. When they got to Edsa near Corinthian Gardens, the taxi driver suddenly stopped the cab to allow a knife-wielding man to get in.
The man then divested Tablan of P10,000 in cash, a cell phone worth P26,000, a gold necklace and a wristwatch. The pair then dropped her off at the corner of Mindanao and Regalado Avenues in Barangay (village) Greater Lagro before escaping.—Jeannette I. Andrade
