Teletech whips JP Morgan, grabs solo 2nd place in Powerade caging

DEFENDING champions Teletech Titans moved up to solo second place after trouting the JP Morgan Chase and Co. Bankers, 98-40 last Sunday in the 2011 Powerade E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.

Sherwin Anghay, Angelo Galicia, Ronald Mata, Edsel Duke Capillanes and Ad Roel Laboga all scored in double figures, combining for 57 points for Teletech which earned its 10th win in 12 games.

The win pushed the Titans closer to the Stream Blue Devils, who lead the standings with an 11-2 (win-loss) slate.

Jonathan Zaragosa scored 17 points and David Garcia had 12 for the Bankers, who slipped to 3-7.

Meanwhile, Supportsave Dragons survived the Wipro Wildcats, 83-82 for their fourth win in 12 outings.

Edmon Paradiang and Fritz Blanes finished with 17 points each for the Dragons, while Bantilan donated 15.

Dan Pestaño tallied 21 points, Reinario Salibay cashed in 18 and John Paul Escudero chipped 13 for the Wildcats, who tasted their eighth loss against four victories.

In the other game, the Aegis People Support (APS) Vipers scored a huge 80-76 win over the Lexmark Stallions with Clifford Amarado scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. Steve Warren Navaja tallied 16 markers and Barrera added 13 as the Vipers stayed at the upper part of the standings with an 8-4 slate.

Seigfred Ofonda netted 24 points, Mervin Balansag had 19 and Franco Angelo Cipriano finished with 12 points, 15 rebounds, four steals, four assists and three blocks for the Stallions who dropped to 9-3.  /EDITORIAL ASSISTANT CALVIN D. CORDOVA
