Today is the 89th death anniversary of the late Trinidad Pardo de Tavera. Born on April 13, 1857, in Manila, he was a notable scholar, physician and propagandist. In 1899, he founded the newspaper “La Democracia.” He also served as a University of the Philippines regent in 1908 and director of the Philippine Library and Museum in 1923.
