MANILA, Philippines—The low pressure area that entered the country’s area of responsibility on Wednesday morning is drawing closer to Surigao del Sur in Mindanao.

As of 4 a.m. Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) spotted the LPA 270 kilometers east of Hinatuan City, Surigao del Sur. On Wednesday morning it was located 550 km east of Hinatuan.

Pagasa said that Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Mindanao would experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon would experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains.

Pagasa said Western Visayas will have similar cloudy condition as Luzon that could bring isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.
