Trike driver shot dead inside his vehicle

MANILA, Philippines—A tricycle driver was shot dead inside his vehicle on Saturday night in San Miguel, Manila.

The still unidentified victim, who was described as between 28 and 35 years old, about 5’2” in height with brown complexion, was found with gunshot wounds in the chest and nape on Palanca Street.

Residents of Barangay 647, Zone 67, said they heard several gunshots near the area at 9:30 p.m. and his body was found minutes later by barangay (village) watchmen.

Scene of the Crime Operatives found two casings for a .45-cal. pistol beside the victim’s body. SPO1 Richard Escarlan of the Manila Police District homicide division said that witnesses did not notice anything out of the ordinary in the area before the victim was killed.—Maricar B. Brizuela
