Aquino reshuffles DFA, other gov’t agencies

MANILA, Philippines — President Benigno S. Aquino III has ordered a revamp in the Department of Foreign Affairs and some government agencies.

Rafael E. Seguis, former foreign undersecretary for Administration, was reappointed to Special and Ocean Concerns also under the DFA as its undersecretary, the Palace said in its advisory.

Seguis will be replaced as undersecretary for Administration by undersecretary Linglingay F. Lacanlale, while Laura Q. del Rosario was designated as undersecretary for International Economic Relations under the foreign affairs department.’

Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte, meanwhile, announced over state-run radio on Saturday the names of new appointees in the Commission of Higher Education, Department of Education and Philippine Sugar Corporation.

The new government appointees are the following:

 

Renato B. Salvatierra, Roberto G. Abello, Augusto B. Araneta Jr., Raymond T. Gomez, Joseph Conrad F. Ledesma, Andrew O. Regalado, Joseph Edgar M. Sarrosa, Cornelio V. Toreja, and Freddie W. Zayco.

 

Maricar R. Casquejo, Maura Consolacion D. Cristobal, Juanito R. Demetrio, Napoleon K. Juanillo Jr., and Teoticia C. Taguibao
