MANILA, Philippines –Malacañang on Wednesday deferred its comment on the dismissal of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) cadet Aldrin Jeff Cudia.
Media earlier reported that Cudia’s family is seeking an audience with President Benigno Aquino III and is set to submit an appeal to his office but Lacierda said they have yet to receive the request.
Asked about the President’s stand on Cudia’s case, Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda declined to comment.
“I cannot speak on that, until we have [spoken] to the president on that. That’s speculative for us to say,” Lacierda said when asked if Aquino would overturn the PMA’s decision.
He said they have never discussed the case of Cudia with Aquino.
“It’s always better for him not to say anything, and to have an open mind,” he said.
