Supt. Rodolfo Castro, San Carlos City police chief, said Wilfredo Palisoc, 45, a lineman of the Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (Cenpelco), was shot dead at 8:45 a.m. while he was driving the company’s utility vehicle in Barangay Tarece in San Carlos.
Castro said in a radio interview said that Palisoc and two other Cenpelco linemen were on their way to Mangaldan town when two men on a motorcycle drove up along the right side of their vehicle and fired at Palisoc.
Palisoc died instantly from a bullet wound below the armpit. Investigators said the bullet first grazed the right arm of another Cenpelco lineman, Jackson Resultan.
Resultan was taken to a local hospital.
Castro said investigators are still trying to determine the motive for the attack.
