Robbers broke into the office of Haribon Foundation, a nature conservation group, over the weekend in Quezon City and made off with gadgets and over P19,000 in cash.
The burglary happened between Friday afternoon and Monday morning at the group’s office in the Santos and Sons Building on Aurora Boulevard in Project 3, Quezon City.
Case investigator PO3 Nathaniel Tan said the victims lost two laptop computers and P19,042 in cash. Haribon’s chief administrative officer Myrna Jean Banaszak said she closed the office at 5 p.m. on Friday.
On Monday morning, another employee, Percival Natividad, arrived at work and noticed that two laptop computers normally left on top on desks were missing.
Several table drawers, on the other hand, were half open.
Tan said the burglars may have entered the office through an air duct connected to the air-conditioning unit. Julie M. Aurelio
