Fire hits paper factory

A paper factory in Pasig City has been smoldering for over a day now as firefighters continue to battle a blaze that broke out on Monday afternoon. The Pasig Fire Department said the blaze at the Hansson Paper Mill on F. Mariano Street in Barangay Manggahan  was first reported to them around 3 p.m. on Monday. They have yet to put it out as of 4 p.m. Tuesday. Reports said the firemen were having difficulty putting out the blaze because it was located in a confined and hard-to-reach area inside the paper factory. Seven fire trucks from the Pasig Fire Department, along with at least six volunteer trucks, have been on rotation since Monday night to try and control the blaze. No one has been reported killed or injured in the fire and investigators have yet to determine how it started. Nathaniel R. Melican
