A house painter was shot dead on his 32nd birthday by two motorcycle-riding men in Quezon City on Monday morning.
Alejandro de Luna was walking near his house on Don Carlos Street in Don Antonio Heights, Barangay (village) Holy Spirit, at 5:30 a.m. when he was attacked.
Case investigator PO2 Louie Serbito said they were still trying to identify the victim’s killers and their motive.
A security guard of a nearby townhouse, Vic Duritan, said he was sleeping when he was awoken by the sound of gunfire.
Alarmed, he peeked through the main gate and saw the victim lying on the street as two men sped off on a motorcycle.
He promptly reported the incident to barangay officials who called the police for help.
Serbito said De Luna died immediately due to several gunshot wounds caused by a .45-cal. pistol, based on the casings and slug found at the crime scene.
