LOS DEMONYOS kept its unbeaten record intact after bagging its fifth straight win with an 82-76 victory over Primos Inter Pares last Saturday in the ongoing elimination round of the 7th IBP Governor’s Cup-2011 basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.
Primos Inter Pares took single-digit leads in the first three quarters before Los Demonyos outscored the former in the fourth period, 30-23 for the six-point victory.
Ferdie Riveral led Los Demonyos with a game-high 22 points while Lito Ortiz and Art Flores added 12 points apiece.
Giovanni Sususco and Marven Miralles paced Primos with 18 and 17 points, respectively while Al Limalima added 16 markers in Primos’ fifth straight loss.
In the other game, Pecandela Law Firm skippered by Mark Russ Gamallo trounced Super Idols of Bong Pepito in a low scoring game, 46-38.
Francis Pepito led Pecandela which improved to 3-2 with 10 points.
In the third game, Jodin upset Pañeros (3-2), 62-51, for its second win in five games with Chug Cadiongan and Grae Elmido scoring 16 and 12 points, respectively. Ruel Juban and Nilo Balorio paced Pañeros with 13 and 11 markers.
In the main game, Los Eagles (3-2) of coach Edsel Vallena routed Bhutakalz (1-4), 81-51, with Jun Hiyas and Rovelson Velmonte leading the charge with 17 and 16 points.
