Students to learn better English
To improve the English communication skills of students in public schools, Qualfon Philippines and Vicsal Foundation, in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), continued its English proficiency program for the grades 1 and 2 pupils of Camp Lapu-Lapu Elementary School in Lahug, Cebu City and the fourth year students of Apas National High School in barangay Apas, Cebu City.
Dubbed “Better English, Better Future,” the program was conceptualized by Vicsal Foundation Inc., a foundation of Metro Gaisano stores in September 2010 and is supported by Qualfon, a business process outsourcing.
The second phase of the program will begin this month.
Call center agents of Qualfon Philippines will handle the English proficiency training for the students for six months. The training will include practical conversation, basic grammar application, universal diction and pronunciation.
The DepEd, on the other hand, will provide training materials for the program and monitor progress and level of performance of each student.
More than 400 pupils from Camp Lapu-Lapu Elementary School and another 400 from Apas National High School are targeted to benefit from the program. /Marketing coordinator Leslee B. Morales
