Parañaque City warns motorists about own truck ban

/ 12:32 AM March 08, 2014

Like Manila, Parañaque City has also stepped up the implementation of its own truck ban.

Since February, the city’s Traffic Management Office had been strictly imposing ordinances barring trucks and other vehicles weighing five tons or more from using certain roads.

A 24-hour ban covers Doña Soledad Avenue extension in Barangay Moonwalk, where there is a bridge which might not be able to withstand heavy vehicles, said TMO chief Teodorico Barandino.

Another ban, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., is being observed on minor streets in Barangays Don Bosco, San Antonio, and Moonwalk, Barandino added.

The second ban covers Sta. Magdalena, Quirino, and Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo streets in San Antonio; Dominic Savio, Iran, Michael Rua, and France streets in Don Bosco; and all streets in Moonwalk. Jaymee T. Gamil
