MANILA, Philippines – The Pampanga Regional Trial  Court (RTC) on Friday upheld the legality of the warrant of arrest issued against Globe Asiatique founder Delfin Lee, a radio report said.

RTC Branch 42 issued its ruling despite a motion filed by Lee’s camp for the immediate release of the real estate magnate who questioned the validity of the order.

Justice Secretary Leila de Lima on Fiday morning, however said, there was a pending petition by the Department of Justice (DOJ) before the Supreme Court questioning the appellate court’s decision to quash the arrest warrant that was why the order was still in effect.

The high court, however, has yet to issue a ruling on the petition.
