A businessman has asked the Supreme Court to dismiss from the service a “utility” worker of the Court of Appeals who allegedly tampered with a court order causing a near shoot-out among rival security guards in a shopping mall in Divisoria, Manila, last week.
In his letter-complaint dated Sept. 8, Joel Go accused Quirino Olit Jr. of deceiving members of the Philippine National Police-Civil Security Group (PNP-CSG) by claiming that he was a “process server” of the appellate court.
Go, president of Majestic Plus Holding International, said Olit was actually a “utility worker” assigned at the appellate court’s Mailing and Delivery Section.
“As a utility worker of the Court of Appeals, (Olit) misrepresented himself as a process server… to impress upon the PNP an alleged authority which he does not have in the first place,” Go said in a letter to Chief Justice Renato Corona.
In his complaint, Go said his company and Bullion Investment and Development Corp. were embroiled in an ownership dispute over the Meisic Mall.
On July 28, Manila regional trial court (RTC) Branch 46 granted Go’s company control of 80 percent of Bullion’s shares, thus, allowing it to take over the business operations of the mall.
On Sept. 2, sheriff Joel del Mundo III implemented a writ of execution in favor of Majestic which the Manila court released a day earlier.
However, the appellate court issued a 60-day temporary restraining order four days later enjoining Del Mundo and the police from enforcing the Manila RTC’s decision.
Go said Olit then served the appellate court’s order on Sept. 7 to both parties.
It was on that day that PNP-CSG personnel led by Senior Supt. June Jamolo “swooped down” on Meisic Mall to install watchmen belonging to the 1957 Security Agency as replacements for the personnel of Eslabon Security Agency.
