Did you know: National Women’s Day

/ 02:11 AM March 06, 2014

March 8 is National Women’s Day, pursuant to Republic Act No. 6949 signed on Apr. 10, 1990. According to the National Statistics Office, about 49.6 percent or 45.6 million of the country’s 92.1 million population were women as of 2010. The National Capital Region (96 males per 100 females) and Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (99 males per 100 females) were the only regions that reported more females than males.
