MANILA, Philippines – Elections Commissioner Luie Tito Guia’s ad interim appointment has been recommended for confirmation by a panel of the Commission on Appointments.
Guia’s appointment was bypassed three times by the CA’s committee on constitutional commission and offices simply because of his failure to follow up his schedule with the committee.
The commissioner apologized to the committee, which then unanimously voted to recommend his appointment for plenary approval.
Aside from Guia, the committee also unanimously recommended for plenary approval the ad interim appointment of another official of the Commission on Elections, Commissioner Al Parreno.
