Caloocan village chairman shot dead
MANILA, Philippines —A barangay (village) chairman in Caloocan City was shot dead Monday morning by two unidentified motorcycle riding in tandem, the Philippine National Police said (PNP) said.
Police said the victim, identified as Alejandro Bonifacio, chairman of Barangay 163 in Caloocan City, was on his way to the village hall when he was ambushed at Napoco Road corner Baesa in Caloocan, 8:45 a.m. on Monday.
The victim was rushed to the MCU hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The two assailants immediately fled on board a motorcycle.
Police said investigation was ongoing.
