TOKYO—A 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Japan’s Okinawa Island early Monday, but US geologists said it was too deep to cause a tsunami.
The quake hit 68 miles (110 kilometers) northwest of the city of Nago just after 4 a.m. (2000 GMT), at a depth of 70 miles (112 kilometres), according to the US Geological Survey.
