MANILA, Philippines — A 34-year-old woman was shot and killed Sunday morning in Quezon City.
Jennifer Villarin, of Manga Street in Barangay (village) Capri, Novaliches, died instantly after she was shot in the head at close range by the gunman who fled after the attack.
Quezon City police investigators have been looking into the possible link between the victim’s killing and the illegal drug trade, said PO2 Hermogenes Capili of the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU).
Capili said the killing happened at around 7:30 a.m., along Geronimo Street, Barangay Sta. Monica in Novaliches.
Capili said that at around the time of the shooting, two vendors opening their stalls for the day heard gunfire nearby and later saw Villarin’s body.
