MANILA, Philippines —A 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Davao Occidental on Saturday afternoon, the state seismologist said.
The quake, which occurred at 1:22 p.m., was centered 174 kilometers south east of Sarangani, according to the latest quake bulletin of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The quake has a depth of 104 kilometers and was tectonic in nature.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury and no aftershocks were expected, Phivolcs said.
Meanwhile, a 3.6 magnitude quake hit 146 kilometers south west of Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat at 9:55 am. on Saturday, Phivolcs said.
Also, a 3.2 magnitude quake shook 37 kilometers south east of Tarragona, Davao Oriental at 6:20 a.m. Saturday.
