Heavy traffic seen on Edsa Friday night till Monday

MANILA, Philippines–Anticipate heavier traffic on “pay day Friday” until next Monday as the road repairs and reblocking in some portions of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (Edsa) resume.

In an advisory, the Metro Manila ‎Development Authority said heavy traffic along Edsa in the cities of Quezon, Mandaluyong and Caloocan will be experienced Friday night until the weekend.

This is due to the road repairs and re-blocking to be conducted by the Department of Public Works and Highways in Manila’s longest thoroughfare.

Starting Friday, Feb. 28, at 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. of Monday, Mar. 3, the DPWH repairs will affect the following areas:

*Along Edsa between Magsaysay Street and New York Street (first lane, southbound) in Quezon City

*Along Edsa between Pantaleon Street and Mayon Street (outer lane, southbound) in Mandaluyong City

*Along Edsa between Don Ang Street and Evangelista Street/Arellano Street and Concepcion Street (Lane 1, northbound) in Caloocan City

The MMDA also advised the motorists to take alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion in Edsa.

On the last day of the weekend repair, roads will be fully passable by Monday morning.
