Heavy weekend traffic on Edsa
MANILA, Philippines—More road repairs will be carried out on parts of Edsa this weekend so motorists should look for alternate routes if they want to avoid getting caught in heavy traffic.
In an advisory issued on Thursday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that traffic was expected to build up in parts of Quezon City, Mandaluyong and Caloocan City where Department of Public Works and Highways personnel would be carrying out road repairs and reblocking.
The roadwork will start at 10 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 28) and last until 5 a.m. of Monday (March 3).
The affected areas on Edsa will be the stretch between Magsaysay Street and New York Street (first lane, southbound) in Quezon City; from Pantaleon Street to Mayon Street (southbound, outer lane) in Mandaluyong City; and the stretch between Don Ang and Evangelista Streets/Arellano and Concepcion Streets (first lane, northbound), both in Caloocan City.
All roads, however, will be fully passable by Monday morning, according to the MMDA.
