Fire hits Makati residential area; put out an hour later

MANILA, Philippines—Fire hit a stretch of residential area in Makati City Thursday afternoon but it was put under control about an hour later.

An advisory by the Metro Manila Development Authority said fire broke out at MACDA compound along J.P. Rizal street near Guadalupe bridge in Barangay (village) Cembo shortly before 5 p.m.

It was placed under Task Force Bravo by 5:40 p.m. More than 10 fire trucks from other district offices under the National Capital Region Bureau of Fire Protection responded to the call.

The fire was put under control at 6:10 p.m. Authorities said no one was injured in the fire.
