MANILA, Philippines–Alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles has arrived at the Philippine National Police General Hospital to undergo a series of tests for possible ovarian tumor.
Escorted by personnel of PNP Special Action Forces and Regional Public Safety Battalion in two convoys, Napoles arrived at the PNP headquarters around 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Chief Superintendent Alejandro Advincula Jr., PNP Health Service Director, told reporters the detained businesswoman will be undergoing a physical exam, transvaginal ultrasound and blood tests.
Advincula said Napoles’ vital signs were stable despite her complaints of chest pains.
As part of the medical examination, Napoles will undergo blood extraction test. The doctors, however, cannot start the test yet without Napoles’ counsel and physician.
Napoles, aside from her severe abdominal pains, has been experiencing pain on her index finger.
With this, the PNP doctors will refer her to an orthopedic surgeon for tests.
Chief Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, PNP Public Information Office chief, said the government would shoulder Napoles’ check-up expenses, which would cost around P3,000.
A medical bulletin willl be released after her check-up.
