MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang on Sunday admitted that it did not have a hand on whether the “pork barrel scam” case will be resolved before President Benigno Aquino III steps down in 2016.

Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma said that while they are one with the people in seeking justice and accountability from those who violated the law and misused the people’s fund, the resolution of the case lies with the Office of the Ombudsman.

(However, we respect the independence of the Ombudsman as it studies the information and complaints presented to them and we are hoping that due process is given and those who are found guilty are held responsible.)

The Ombudsman is currently working on cases involving the misuse of the Priority Development Assistance Fund.
