MANILA, Philippines – As the people brace for heavy traffic caused by simultaneous construction of two major infrastructure projects in Metro Manila, Malacañang on Tuesday said they will look into proposals to implement a four-day school week.

“The regular school calendar will be ending in about a month. Merong panahon sa summer vacation to plan until the opening of classes (There is time during the summer vacation to plan until the opening of classes),” Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma said during a press briefing.

Coloma, however, said that the proposals are simply options and suggestions that should be thoroughly studied for possible repercussions.
