5 soldiers wounded in clash with NPA rebels in Abra
MANILA, Philippines – Five Army troops were wounded in an encounter with communist rebels in Abra, the military said on Monday.
The soldiers were on security patrol when it encountered about 20 members of the New People’s Army in Lenneng village, town of Licuan Baay at about 9 p.m. on Sunday, Captain Regie Go of the Army’s 41st Infantry Battalion said.
The wounded soldiers were identified as:
First Lieutenant Johndon Edoc
Corporal Fimie Agcaoili

They were brought to Abra Provincial Hospital, Go said. Three of them have to undergo minor operation but Go assured they are now stable and recovering.
