BUTUAN CITY, Agusan del Norte – A Cebu Pacific plane bound for Cebu got stuck in mud at the edge of the runaway at the Butuan Domestic Airport as it prepared for takeoff around 10:35 a.m. Saturday, the local aviation office confirmed.
The aviation office said Flight 5J-220 failed to take off, its front wheel stuck in the soggy ground at the edge of the runway.
All 106 crew and passengers were safe and were transferred to the terminal, the report added.
As a result of the incident, all flights to and from the city cancelled as the plane obstructed the runway and had yet to be removed.
The airport here handles at least six domestic incoming and outgoing flights daily.
