The condominium in Parañaque City where police seized some P170 million worth of illegal drugs on Wednesday had been abandoned by its occupants since Jan. 24.

Chief Insp. Roque Merdegia, spokesperson of the Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force also said yesterday that members of the syndicate who rented Unit 48 of Sentosia Condominium in Barangay Tambo had been “under the radar” of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency since 2004.

Merdegia added that occupants of the unit which served as a drug warehouse for the group immediately left after authorities intercepted a van with 248 kilos of ephedrine worth nearly P400 million on Jan. 24 on Marina Avenue, also in Parañaque. The contraband came from the same condominium. Marlon Ramos
