MANILA, Philippines – Ruby Tuason, the latest witness to blow the whistle on the pork barrel scammers, admitted before the Senate Thursday that she received at least P40 million in commission.
“I was always five percent,” Tuason told the blue ribbon committee on Thursday.
She added that there was withholding tax on the pork barrel but didn’t know whether the decution was for Mrs. Napoles, referring to Janet Lim-Napoles, the alleged mastermind in the pork barrel scam.
Tuason, the former social secretary of then president and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, was said to be the conduit of senators Enrile and Estrada and Napoles.
She said she had introduced Napoles to the lawmakers.
Tuason fled to the United States after the scandal broke out before returning to become state witness. She said she was bothered by her conscience.
Tuason is facing plunder charge, along with Estrada, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Enrile.
