Malacañang vows to pursue justice for slain journalists

MANILA, Philippines—On the advent of the 28th anniversary of the Edsa People Power, Malacañang on Wednesday promised to pursue the assailants of slain journalists and give out justice for the parties involved.

“We are committed to pursue and persecute assailants of slain journalists so that we may obtain justice for those who were killed in the practice of their profession,” Coloma said in a media briefing.

“We will continue to ensure that there are no prior restraints to the exercise of press freedom.”

Coloma said that the government’s hunt for justice is in “keeping with the spirit” of the Edsa People Power which would celebrate its 28th anniversary this Feb. 25.
