Although Blesila Dumasal’s fervent prayers and hard work in raising P3 million for the operation of her 1-year-old daughter Jazlyn Mikaela, who has biliary atresia, appears to have paid off, it didn’t seem enough to see them through to Taiwan, site of the hospital for this procedure.
“It was a difficult struggle from the day Dr. Germana Gregorio of the Philippine General Hospital told us that she needs to undergo a liver transplant,” Blesila said.
The Kasai procedure done on the little girl had not been successful, and so a liver transplant was necessary overseas, the doctor said.
Dumasal said that she and husband, Joel, had already given the hospital in Taiwan the required P2.4 million deposit. However, they still need to raise P300,000.
“We are appealing to the charitable hearts of your readers to please help our daughter lead a normal life,” the Las Piñas City housewife said.
The Dumasals can be reached at 0922-8034895, 0918-7585090 and 378-0919.
Deposits can also be made at Blesila’s account, No. 3629-0182-03, with any branch of the Bank of the Philippine Islands.
