Army points to BIFF in new blast

COTABATO CITY—Members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) detonated a bomb along the highway in Maguindanao as a convoy of journalists was passing on Tuesday, a military official said.

The incident came days after two members of a Manila-based TV crew were wounded in a roadside bomb attack.

Colonel Dickson Hermoso, spokesperson for the 6th Infantry Division, told the

Inquirer that journalists from ABS-CBN, GMA and TV5 were following a military vehicle around 2 p.m. on Tuesday when the incident occurred in the village of Tuka in Mamasapano town. No one was hurt. Jeoffrey Maitem, Inquirer Mindanao
