MANILA, Philippines – Despite a “slight” decline in the recent satisfaction ratings of the administration, the Palace on Tuesday said President Benigno Aquino III has consistently performed well in perception surveys.

“Tuwing magsu-survey ang SWS (Social Weather Stations) at Pulse Asia, ang headline rating, ‘yung pinakamataas [na] antas ng rating, ay ‘yung tungkol sa satisfaction or performance approval or trust rating ng Pangulo,” Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma said in a press briefing.

(Every time the SWS and Pulse Asia conduct surveys, the headline rating, the highest rating is about the satisfaction or performance approval or trust rating of the President.)

Coloma, citing a column written by SWS president Mahar Mangahas, boasted that the survey results of 2013 had the highest rating among all administrations since SWS started their polls.

The latest SWS poll, conducted last December, resulted in a “very good” +51 percentage points satisfaction rating for the Aquino administration, five points down from the September 2013 survey.

Coloma, nevertheless, said, “We will continue to work harder and smarter, mindful that there are only 29 months remaining of this administration, to implement important priority programs of the Philippine Development Plan that will ensure sustainable and inclusive growth for all Filipinos.”
