MANILA, Philippines – The five persons who were listed missing at the height Tropical Storm “Basyang” were rescued off Cebu, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Tuesday.
“The five persons previously reported missing were rescued by two fishermen at 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 2 off Sitio Nagub-an, Barangay (village) Union, San Francisco in Camtoes, Cebu,” NDRRMC said in its latest bulletin.
The survivors were identified as Ho Geo Ga (a Korean national), Stimson Suello, Eron Suello, Jemson Suello and Julius Perilla.
They sustained minor injuries and were brought to Ricardo Maningo District Hospital for medical treatment, NDRRMC said.
Basyang, which made its first landfall over Siargao Island last Feb. 1, left six people dead and displaced about 5,000 persons.
