One-man exhibit for ‘Agaton’ and ‘Yolanda’ victims

Rizal Park spokesman and abstract painter Kenneth Montegrande will mount his second one-man exhibit at City State Tower Hotel’s Ristorante d’ Amore on Mabini corner Padre Faura Street in Ermita, Manila, on Feb. 3 at 6 p.m.

Dubbed “JUAN HeART, 1 NATION: Art With A Heart,” the exhibit aims to raise funds for victims of Tropical Depression Agaton in Mindanao and Super Typhoon Yolanda in Eastern Visayas. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the exhibit will go to the ALC Foundation of the hotel owner, Ambassador Antonio Cabangon Chua.

“Isn’t it fulfilling to know that the item that you just purchased was able to help families in need? That’s why I’m encouraging art enthusiasts and collectors to attend the show so that they can take part in helping our countrymen. They can have an artwork and, at the same time, help the needy,” Montegrande said.

His first one-man show held on Nov. 29 last year proved to be a success as he was able to generate funds to help 100 families start anew in Eastern Samar. He went to the affected areas on Dec. 13 to 15, along with some friends, to distribute aid.

City State Tower Hotel owner D. Edgard Cabangon, meanwhile, said that since the show is slated on the month of hearts, individuals who will purchase Montegrande’s artworks can avail themselves of a one-night stay with free breakfast at selected rooms.
