QUEZON CITY, Philippines – A man was arrested Thursday after a vehicle reported stolen in Bulacan province five months ago was seen parked in front of his Quezon City home by the real owner.

When questioned, Alexander Serdinoza, 52, claimed that he bought the red Nissan Frontier (XMB-938) online but could not name the seller or the website where the vehicle was advertised, police said.

Police Officer 3 Jerry Gonzales of the Quezon City Police District’s anti-car theft unit said Serdinoza was arrested at his house in Phase 4, North Olympus Subdivision, Barangay Kaligayahan, on a complaint filed by Dr. Felipe Francisco, 50, of Malolos, Bulacan.

Francisco said he happened to be passing through Barangay Kaligayahan around 2 p.m. when he spotted his vehicle parked in front of a house. He then went to the QCPD’s Fairview station to report that it was his Nissan Frontier stolen in Pulilan, Bulacan, in August last year.

Gonzales said Serdinoza would be charged with fencing in Quezon City and with car theft in Bulacan. Julie M. Aurelio
