Men’s mag ‘talent agent’ nabbed as teen cries rape

QUEZON CITY, Philippines – A man claiming to be a talent agent of a men’s magazine was arrested after duping an aspiring model and raping her in a Quezon City motel.

The police said Rudy Molina, 37, threatened to post on the Internet his supposed sex video with the 16-year-old complainant if she won’t have sex with him again.

The suspect, a resident of Caloocan City, was arrested in an entrapment operation near the Nova Proper Barangay Hall in Novaliches Thursday morning.

Complaints for rape and grave threats in relation to the Anti-Child Abuse Law were being prepared Friday against Molina, who posed as a talent coordinator for FHM Magazine.

Senior Police Officer 4 Rosemarie Sy, chief of the women and children’s protection desk of the Quezon City Police District’s Novaliches station, said the suspect was arrested based on the complaint of the teenager, a high school student also living in Novaliches.

The girl alleged that she met the suspect at a mall on January 13. The man claimed to be a talent agent of FHM and offered her a modeling job.

Three days later, Molina called her up to say he would give her P65,000 as initial payment under a modeling contract.

But before handing over the money, the suspect said he wanted to “inspect” her body.

That same day, the girl went with Molina to a motel in Barangay Sta. Monica, Novaliches, where the suspect allegedly took advantage of her and raped her.

After the assault, the man contacted the girl and threatened to upload the video of the rape if she refuses to have sex with him one more time.

The girl finally told her mother about it and the latter sought police assistance.

Sy said a trap was set Thursday morning to trick Molina into believing that the girl had agreed to see him again.

Molina turned out to be a security officer who reports to a real estate development company, not a magazine talent agent, police said.
