Bulacan doctor finds car stolen from him parked in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines—Police arrested a man in Quezon City Thursday afternoon, shortly after a Bulacan doctor who happened to be driving by found a sports utility vehicle stolen from him five months earlier parked outside the man’s home.

Police said Alexander Serdinoza, 52, a resident of Phase 4, North Olympus Subdivision in Barangay Kaligayahan, claimed to have purchased the red Nissan Frontier with plate number XMB 938 online but could not identify the website or who the seller was.

He faces charges of fencing in Quezon City and car theft in Bulcan, said PO3 Jerry Gonzales of the Quezon City Police District’s Anti-Carnapping Unit.

Gonzales said Dr. Felipe Francisco, 50, of Malolos, Bulacan, happened to pass by the residential area around 2 p.m. Thursday when he saw his missing SUV parked outside Serdinoza’s house. The doctor had reported his car stolen in Pulilan, Bulacan, last August.

According to the investigator, Francisco immediately reported his discovery to the Fairview Police Station, which quickly dispatched a team of anti-car theft detectives who recovered the stolen vehicle and arrested Serdinoza around 4:30 p.m.
