LUCENA City, Philippines—A construction firm lost P100,000 in payroll money to two bonnet-wearing highway robbers in Tiaong, Quezon, Saturday, police said Sunday.

Senior Police Officer 1 Joseph Salvador Ramirez, San Antonio police investigator, said that an employee of Arda Construction Co., identified as Roberto Roxas, was aboard a tricycle traveling toward the village of Balat Atis to bring the salary of their workers when two unidentified men blocked their path and at gunpoint and grabbed Roxas’ bag containing the money.

The robbers – described as wearing short pants, jackets with ski bonnet and handkerchief to cover their faces – also snatched Roxas’ two mobile phones before escaping toward a forested area, the police investigator said.
