MANILA, Philippines—A mild earthquake jolted Batangas early Tuesday but no aftershocks were expected, state volcanologists said.
The 3.6-magnitude tectonic quake was recorded at 5:37 a.m. with its epicentre located at 31 kilometers southwest of Nasugbu, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
Intensities were reported in the following areas:
— Intensity II- Tagaytay City; Indang, Cavite; Malabon City
— Intensity I- Quezon City
No immediate damage was recorded.
The Philippines is located at the “Pacific Ring of Fire,” making it prone to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
