Rains still expected in Mindanao – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines – Light to moderate rains were forecast over Mindanao despite the absence of a weather disturbance, the weather bureau said on Friday.
The regions of Caraga and Davao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration said in its weather bulletin.
These areas were recently hit by Tropical Depression “Agaton” which turned into a low pressure area. It claimed over 50 lives as of latest.
The rest of Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or “hanging amihan” continued to affect Luzon and Visayas. Temperatures in Metro Manila were forecast between 19 to 28 degrees Celsius. In Baguio City, temperatures were expected to be between 9 to 19 degrees Celsius.
